The Toy Box PhantomFocus Mixroom™

The subject of a major renovation that transformed an ugly duckling control room into a sonically superb swan, Nashville engineer/producer and Recording Studio Rockstars creator Lij Shaw, tasked Carl Tatz Design to implement one of the design firm’s TEC Award-winning PhantomFocus MixRooms™ in his existing space. The results were among some of the most dramatic conversions of note. Featured are the PhantomFocus HD-1000 Master Reference Monitor System, including PFM ICE Cube-12 Subwoofers accurate down to 20Hz, PF Monitor Stands by Sound Anchor, the PhantomFocus processor by Ashly, the Carl Tatz Edition™Dual 15 Workstation by Argosy and a Silver Mesh Porcelain PhantomFocus eChair™, all part of the PhantomFocus System. Carl Tatz Design Acoustic Lens™ diffusers by Auralex® line mirrored sides of the MixRoom, virtually enlarging the acoustic volume. Acoustic and aesthetic enhancements were also implemented in the studio’s tracking room and isolation booth to make them more commensurate with the MixRoom’s level of performance.
