WILLISOUNDZ II
Willisoundz II is the second studio designed and built by Carl Tatz for guitar session player extraordinaire and producer, John Willis. John had purchased a new home and of course needed a new studio in it to continue his very busy recording schedule. Like Willisoundz I, John prefers to do the entire recording process in the control room but this time he needed some major sound isolation to accommodate his new marital status. The rear of the control room is an axial mode absorber composed of very heavy black steel mounted on a spring module and then made diffusive by racking the bulk of John’s seventy plus guitars. Once again an amp closet was built as well as a glassed-in computer room and a well-appointed rest room. The overall acoustic performance of this room was bumped up a notch as well enabling the PhantomFocus System™ Four – Near Field to shine brighter than ever.
